Main changes from July

  • Previously furloughed employees are allowed to start working part-time.
  • The employer will pay the employee's wages and employment related securities, National Insurance contributions and pension costs for hours worked.
  • The employer can claim a grant for up to 80% of salaries and related costs (the difference in normal working hours and actual working hours).
  • The minimum furlough period is one week.

Other changes

From 1st of July the scheme will only be available to employers that have previously used the scheme in respect of employees they have previously furloughed.
